Carrying Light Forward

Lately, for many of us, the weight of the world feels heavier. There are days when uncertainty seems to take up more space than we'd like, when things feel a little harder to carry. We feel it here, and we hear it echoed by friends in other parts of the world. We would like to begin by simply acknowledging this, gently and with compassion…
It can feel as though there's little that could ease what feels so present right now. But as we sit in reflection this month, we find that spring offers a comforting wisdom.
Spring officially begins on the vernal equinox, which falls on March 20 this year. On this day, light and darkness share the sky in near equal measure — both simply existing side by side.
The equinox reminds us that darkness is never the whole story. Even when it feels like it lingers, there is always a counterbalance — small moments of warmth, connection, kindness, or quiet beauty that sustain us. We may have to look a little more closely for them, or hold onto them a little more intentionally, but they exist.
It can look like pausing to feel the warmth of the sun, even for a moment. A deep breath. Reaching out to someone you care about. Choosing gentleness in a moment where it would be easier to close off. These small, conscious choices become ways of protecting and nurturing the light within and around us.
If it feels right, we invite you to pause and notice where light exists for you — however small or subtle it may be. Taking a moment to notice this doesn't change everything at once, but it can gently shift how we move through what feels heavy. In recognizing even a trace of light, we create a little more space for steadiness, for connection, and for the possibility that we don't have to hold it all on our own.
And in noticing and tending to that light — however small it may seem — we begin to bring a bit more of it forward.
As always, we thank you for being here.
